Summer in the California Collection
Join UCBG horticulturist Jon Kanagy for a seasonal tour through the Garden's California Collection that combines plant highlights and horticultural tips.
For our summer session, we will be discussing plant adaptations to our summer dry climate, what to consider for irrigation, pruning, and other seasonal activities, with demonstrations of related gardening techniques. During the walk, Jon will point out summer-dormant and summer-blooming plants, and recommend those to consider growing at home. Have our Garden help inspire your own home garden with California native plants.
This workshop is part of a 4-part series that tracks California's seasonal changing flora along with gardening best practices.
This walk follows uneven terrain, with areas of paved and unpaved trail. For accessibility inquiries, please email gardenprograms@berkeley.edu, or call 510-664-7606.
