Natural Dyes of Brazil: A focus on Indigenous techniques with Eber Lopes-Ferreira

This year, as a part of our Fiber & Dye festivities, we welcome visiting natural dyer Eber Lopes-Ferreira to present a day-long workshop on the native natural dyes of Brazil. Eber runs a studio called Etnobotanica focused on the sustainable harvesting of natural dyes, while creating products that meet the utmost of standards for industry.  In this workshop you will learn the processes for creating beautiful colors from the following plants (and more): 
 
Jenipap Genipa americana
Annatto  Bixa orellana 
Crajirú Fridericia chica
Brazilwood  Paubrasilia echinata  
Brazlilian Indigo Koanophyllon simillimum
 
All materials are included and you will leave with a set of samples.
