Monoprint Resist with Plant Dyes (Itajime Resist Technique)

This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday March 26

10:00 AM  –  4:00 PM

Join instructor Angelina DeAntonis as we explore the dye resist technique “itajime”, using this folding and binding method to create your own scarf. Participants will gather a plant leaf, frond or some other plant material and create a monoprint resist using plant dyed wood blocks. The dyed blocks will transfer through the layers of silk, making a repeated pattern with a subtle and surprising botanical pattern, as we over-dye with natural dyes in our workshop.

Please wear clothing that can get stained, and bring rubber gloves, a notebook, and an apron.

(Registration includes Garden admission - a $10 value!)

Cancellation Policy: Notification 2 weeks prior to program receives full refund; less than 2 weeks receives a one-time credit toward another Garden program to be used within 90 days; cancellation less than 48 hours receives no credit.
