Live Plant and Mushroom Music with Modern Biology

Modern Biology’s Field Trip is part exploration, part musical performance, and part community gathering. HUSHconcerts is proud to present the Bay Area debut of this unique experience in the UC Botanical Garden's Redwood Grove.

Hosted by viral plant and mushroom ‘music’ artist Modern Biology, Field Trips happen as pop-up events in public nature settings. Using silent disco-style headphones, small groups of participants listen to the bioelectricity of flora and fungi as it is translated into relaxed, ambient soundscapes, and supplemented with live musical improvisation. Local naturalists add to the experience, helping us more deeply connect with the local biome.

Modern Biology’s Field Trip is the crystallization of an online group nature-art project. These field trips also raise funds and awareness for local environmental non-profits.

Experience the bioelectrics of living plants directly as sound translated into music outdoors among them.

Ticket includes day-of admission to the UC Botanical Garden, a living museum of plants. Garden collections close at 5pm, Redwood Grove doors for the performance will open at 5pm. Musical performance broadcast on HUSHconcerts exclusive wireless headphones from 6-7pm.
