Sunday August 11

9:00 AM  –  10:30 AM

So sorry! This event is now FULL. Please email gardenmembership@berkeley.edu to be added to the waitlist with the number in your party and we will let you know if spaces become available.

Join us to celebrate the launch of Garden Horticulturist Ethan Fenner's new book The Art and Philosophy of the Garden, written in collaboration with his father David Fenner. "How can we interpret gardens? How do we value gardens and gardening? Fenner and Fenner bring to bear global ideas and examples in order to provide a wide-ranging and deep exploration of the philosophy of gardens and gardening."

Members and a guest are invited to enjoy light refreshments in Julia Morgan Hall and mingle with fellow garden enthusiasts. Ethan Fenner will present a slide show and brief lecture that explores key themes from his book followed by a book signing session.

The book will be available for purchase at the event, online, or in the Garden Shop. Members can get a 10% discount on the book. For online purchasing, please contact the membership office at gardenmemberships@berkeley.edu for a member-only discount code.

Continue your day in the Garden with a picnic or perhaps a stroll through one of our collections.
