FAMILY PROGRAM: California Natives: Plants & People

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday September 16

10:00 AM  –  11:00 AM

Bring the whole family on a guided walk through the Garden's California collection with the Education Director on our "Indian Trail." Explore the creative ways California Indians have used native plants in their everyday lives for food, shelter, tools, fiber, medicine, even music, toys and games.  At each plant stop, we'll examine (and sometimes try!) replicas of Indian artifacts as we discover the plant knowledge, customs, and skills of California’s earliest peoples. At the end, we'll make a cattail cordage bracelet to take home.

Program is rain-or-shine and will be moved indoors if necessary. All program fees include admission to the Garden (a $12 value per adult). Cancellation Policy: Notification 2 weeks prior to program receives full refund; less than 2 weeks receives a one-time credit toward another Garden program to be used within 90 days; cancellation less than 48 hours receives no credit. In the event that the Garden has to cancel a program you will be offered a full refund.
