Botanical Illustration: Winter / Holiday

This two-day class will introduce you to the fascinating world of Botanical Art. Catherine Watters will teach you to observe, measure and draw plants in great detail and with botanical accuracy. Students will work with graphite, colored pencil and watercolors. All levels are welcome. If you don't wish to purchase supplies, you can pay $10 to the instructor on the first day of class for material rental. 2 Graphite Pencils - grade H & 2H (Staedtler Mars Lumograph)

2 Erasers - Pentel ‘Clic’ Kneaded Rubber

Drawing Pad - Strathmore Bristol Vellum 300 series 9” x 12” – pad of 20 sheets

Divider - A measuring tool, similar to a compass but with 2 points (no adjusting wheel!)

Whisk - Desk broom to sweep eraser crumbs

Magnifying glass

Gooseneck table lamp

* Colored pencils are provided. If you wish to purchase your own, here is the list. All program fees include admission to the Garden (a $12 value per adult). Cancellation Policy: Notification 2 weeks prior to program receives full refund; less than 2 weeks receives a one-time credit toward another Garden program to be used within 90 days; cancellation less than 48 hours receives no credit. In the event that the Garden has to cancel a program you will be offered a full refund.
