Help the Garden Bring Back the Bird Deck!

The UC Botanical Garden's Bird Deck requires total reconstruction after a powerful storm toppled a mature oak tree and demolished it. Perched over Strawberry Creek in the California Area, this special gathering place has been a draw for school groups, tours and visitors for several decades. With community support the Garden will be able to launch the planning and construction of this valuable educational hub and help to replant and expand the surrounding area with new plants to preserve this iconic collection. The Garden seeks to raise $125,000 by June 30,2024, to fund this project, with work slated to begin in 2025/26. Please consider a gift today, to help the Garden complete this important work.
