Introduction to Botanical Illustration: One Day workshop with Catherine Watters

This one-day class will introduce you to the fascinating world of Botanical Art. Catherine Watters will teach you to observe, measure and draw plants in great detail and with botanical accuracy. Students will work with graphite and colored pencil. All levels are welcome.
A Supply List can be found below or you can sign up in advance to use materials provided by the instructor during the workshop for a fee of $10 payable to the instructor; please email us to reserve.

2 Graphite Pencils - grade H & 2H (Staedtler Mars Lumograph)

2 Erasers - General’s BM-2 Mechanical Eraser & Kneaded Rubber

Divider - A measuring tool, similar to a compass but with 2 points (no adjusting wheel!)

Magnifying glass

Gooseneck table lamp (some are available at the Garden)

Drawing Pad - Strathmore Bristol Vellum 300 series, 9” x 12” – pad of 20 sheets

All program fees include same day admission to the Garden, rain or shine (a $15 value per adult). 


Cancellation Policy: Notification two weeks prior to program receives full refund; less than two weeks receives a one-time credit toward another Garden program to be used within 90 days; less than 48 hours from program start, no refunds or credit will be given for cancellations or absences. 
In the event that the Garden has to cancel a program you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another program.
