Botanical Illustration: Spring Flowers with Catherine Watters

Spring is a lovely time to dive into botanical illustration using all the brightly colored flowers that surround us. Catherine Watters is an enthusiastic instructor who enjoys sharing her passion of botanical art. She will guide you through the steps of observing, drawing and painting your flowers to capture their form, rich colors and texture. Advance registration required.

**If you don’t wish to purchase the supplies needed for this class, you can rent all the necessary supplies from Catherine for $15 payable to her cash or check on the first day of class. ** Supply reservations must be made in advance. 

 

Catherine Watters is a botanical artist and instructor who has taught at the UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley for 11 years and at Filoli for 20 years. Additionally, she teaches yearly classes in France and at Wellesley College near Boston. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artist, currently serving on the Board of Directors. Her paintings appear in numerous publications and are included in several permanent collections in the U.S., France, England and Australia. She co-founded several florilegia, most recently The Alcatraz Florilegium and Le Florilège de Brécy in France.

All program fees include same day admission to the Garden, rain or shine (a $15 value per adult) from 9am-5pm.

Cancellation Policy: Notification two weeks prior to program receives full refund; less than two weeks receives a one-time credit toward another Garden program to be used within 90 days; less than 48 hours from program start, no refunds or credit will be given for cancellations or absences. In the event that the Garden has to cancel a program you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another program.
