Art in the Garden: Drawing on the Run

This event is no longer on sale.

Friday May 31

10:00 AM  –  3:00 PM

Do you ever want to stop and sketch your views while you are traveling or visiting special places?

It can be difficult when we have friends, family or an itinerary waiting for us. The challenge is to capture the essence of what we see in a short time, whether its 30 seconds, 1/2 an hour or one hour.

Using pen and ink, pencil and colored pencil, we will go through some exercises to learn a few simple but effective techniques to record our experiences so we can enjoy them, or even work from them, later. The act of drawing and recording our interest on paper deepens our ability to experience and "see" a place in more detail. It allows us to slow down and appreciate and absorb.

You might even be surprised by what you can draw!

Materials needed are:

·A small sketchbook 11 x 14 at largest

·A pen with indelible waterproof ink. The tip should roll smoothly on paper without any resistance.

·Colored Pencils - at least a couple of each of the following -  reds, yellows, greens, blues, browns, white
